mac.

as most of you know, i love make-up. if i could have another profession or hobby on the side, i would go to beauty school and work at mac. i just love all of their products and making people look sassy. however, mac is not the only line of make-up products in my collection.
here are a few of my favs:

from top to bottom: naked lunch eyeshadow, kohl power eye pencil, plush mascara, mineral foundation and blush, end with some nice plump lips with plush glass.

mac should pay me for free advertising...
well not really, no one reads my blog. ha.

regalia.

so its official.

i picked up my cap and gown today.

i made it through four years of college.
i am actually going to be done with school after 17 years of education.
it all started with grace chapel pre school for a year, lt. eleazar davis elementary school for k-2nd grade, job lane elementary school from 3-5th grade,
lexington christian academy from 6-12th grade, baylor university for freshman year & gordon college to cap it off.

that is a heck of a lot of papers, tests, dioramas, public speaking, awkward social encounters, and oh ya, how could i forget? around $230,000 in tuition bills. YIKES.

AND ALL I GET IS A DIPLOMA?!?!

this is surreal.

interesting theory.

so because easter is upon us, i thought that i would share this interesting theory sent to me through a forward email...

Why Did Jesus Fold the Napkin?

This is one I can honestly say I have never seen circulating in the e-mails so I'll start it, if it touches you and you want to forward it. Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection? I never noticed this....

The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes. The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed at the head of that stony coffin. Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved.

She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!' Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see. The other disciple out ran Peter and got there first. He stopped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in. Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying to the side.

Was that important? Absolutely! Is it really significant? Yes!

In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant,
and every Jewish boy knew this tradition.

When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it. The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating,
and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished.. Now if the master were done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table.. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant,

"I'm finished.."

But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate,
the servant would not dare touch the table, because..........

The folded napkin meant,

"I'm coming back!"

now God is the only man who actually knows the reasoning behind why there was an entire verse dedicated to the folding of Jesus' robe, but this is a hopeful theory and interesting one at that.

i was reminded in a recent sermon that because Jesus died on the cross for our sins, there is no way for us to earn our way to heaven..

Jesus already paid the price for us.

As believers we don't have to do things for Christ, we want and get to do things for Him.

Happy Easter!

a few things that i have discovered.

1. i think i am growing up because the top of my belly button piercing fell out and therefore i had to take my belly ring out. after i looked in the mirror at my now bare stomach after 4 years of having some bling showing, i kinda of liked it. does this mean i am moving into a new grown up phase of my life?!

2. i had a craving for ice cream last night and instead of acting upon this tasty delight, i decided to venture to the gym at 9pm and work out. luckily my ice cream cravings went away and i was able to enjoy a car ride, full of endorphins, with windows down, and music blasting. zero calories!

3. everyday on my way to work, i cut through mass general hospital (like many other commuters) to get to the hotel i work at. i normally breeze through the hospital, coffee in hand and earphones in my head; however, yesterday i stopped for a moment and looked around. i saw a man and woman looking anxious by the vending machines, two doctors talking about a medical emergency in their bright green scrubs, and a very old man in a stretcher getting wheeled out of an ambulance. then i scooted about 100 feet and walked into my hotel with posh people and successful businessmen.

i never seem to think about the devastation that is happening just right next door to me when i am healthy and faxing papers all day long. that little 2 minute cut through makes me appreciate life.
